About
K-12th grade curriculum involves eight 30-minute sessions each week.
Objectives
Children learn life skills to help focus attention and increase self regulation (impulse control and emotional regulation). This results in:
- Improved focus in the classroom
- Ability to calm down when upset
- Make better decisions
Methods
Each session involves a 15-minute lesson with time for interactive learning. Parents are required to attend and observe in the background. This supports continued support and learning at home.
Program Outline
The program involves a variety of engaging lessons around mindfulness – body, breath, listening, seeing, walking, etc. Kindness, generosity, gratitude and other positive emotion practices are also covered to offer direct experiences of empowered choice to feel better.
