Course Objectives
Participants learn to establish a consistent meditation practice and incorporate mindfulness into daily life by:
- – Interrupting the cycle of tension, reaction and stress
- – Replacing it with kindness, awareness and choice
- – Remaining steady through life’s ups and downs
Benefits

- – Choice – Strengthens the prefrontal cortex and modulates the amygdala, supporting the choice to respond rather than react.
- – Personal growth – Helps us notice unhealthy patterns and make changes from a foundation of positive emotion.
Methods
Each class offers teaching, meditation practice, interactive learning, and group discussion. Some specific tools taught to support mindfulness include: Breath and body awareness, ways to explore challenges in meditation, mindfulness in daily life, and several different meditations.
